VANCOUVER EVENTS + LIFESTYLE

Got a bunch of audible goodies for the heads this week. Notable mixtape releases include (click to download):
Chip Tha Ripper – “Tell Ya Friends”
Rockie Fresh – “Driving 88″
Gilbere Forte – “YOTD: Year Of The Dragon”
You know what to do…listen and download!

A dope track from Wiz featuring Juicy J’s obnoxious ass and a hot “Minajesque” verse from Lola Monroe. Lola’s raps are almost as phat as her booty on this one!
Wiz Khalifa – Oh Gee La feat. Juicy J & Lola Monroe

A new one from Stalley with dope production by Ski Beatz. Warning: you might learn something listening to this…
Stalley – Harsh Ave

A nice unreleased cut from the kid Mac Miller.
Mac Miller – Right Now (Unreleased)

Action Bronson with the assist from Statik…I’m a huge fan of this combination.
Action Bronson – Strictly Business, Pt 1 & 2

Not the biggest dubstep fan, but the kids seem to love it. Cypress Hill on the other hand, I’m a big fan of. This is a new cut from the new Cypress Hill x Rusko project…kinda nice.
Cypress Hill & Rusko – Roll It, Light It

A couple tracks from Chip’s new tape. First one being assisted by Wale has a very laid back, smoke a j to this feel. Second one continues your sesh.
Chip Tha Ripper – 25 Wives feat. Wale

Chip Tha Ripper – Soothing

Continuing with the smoke a j to this feel type songs, here’s a new cut by Q featuring Dom and Spitta. Smooth as fu*k!
Schoolboy Q – Grooveline Pt.1 feat. Dom Kennedy & Curren$y

And wrapping up the smoker’s section is a new one by Strong Arm Steady featuring the always smooth OPM spender, Dom Kennedy.
Strong Arm Steady – Smoke On feat. Dom Kennedy & Baby D

A new one from Rockie Fresh featuring Veggies. Beat is FIRE!
Rockie Fresh – Driving 88 feat. Casey Veggies

NOLA/ Seattle connection. Haven’t heard any new Jake One production in a minute.
Chase N Cashe – Trill Living 4.0

New one from Donnis. Cool beat.
Donnis – Benjamin Franklin feat. Jay Ant & IAMSU

Scolla – The Jones feat. Phil Ade & Gerald Walker

This week I got caught up in Phil Ade’s new tape “#PhilAdeFriday2” and Asher Roth’sPabst & Jazz.” Am I the only one who thinks Asher is mad underrated? Dude has bars to spit and stays in his lane. E-40 is showing no signs of slowing down, peeps his new track below its FIRE! I can’t wait for his new 3 CD album to drop in March. Being a big fan of Primo’s production I threw up a new track by Bumpy Knuckles. Slim Thug dropped a new mixtape called “Houston,” which was subpar as a whole but had some bangers. Apart from those I’ve been up on my Action Bronson game and am thinking maybe on next weeks TWIHH I’ll throw up a feature on dude. Right click + save as to download!

Samples galore! Music fans rejoice!
Action Bronson – Contemporary Man

My favourite track off of Asher’s mixtape featuring a classic sample from Eddie Kendricks (If You Let Me) which was also featured on Pimp C’s “Down 4 Mine.”
Asher Roth – Charlie Chaplin feat. Phil Ade, GLC & Thurz

A very dope spin on Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness.”
Schoolboy Q – Hands On The Wheel feat. ASAP Rocky

I’m a HUGE E-40 fan and am definitely feeling this slapper.
E-40 – Function feat. YG, Iamsu & Problem

Primo beats + dope rhymes = good music. Nuff said.
Bumpy Knuckles – We Are At War

808s are fully on deck in this standout track from Thugga’s latest tape.
Slim Thug – OCD feat. Killa Kyleon & Les

Personally thought Yo Gotti’s “January 10th” mixtape was weak as fu*k, making me hesitant to copp his “Live From The Kitchen” album. I did, and was pretty disappointed with all but a couple tracks, one of which is Go Girl featuring a star studded feature roster.
Yo Gotti – Go Girl feat. Big K.R.I.T., Big Sean & Wiz Khalifa

Check out some more Asher and Phil Ade after the jump!
